In this course you will learn:
- How a contract works, including obligations and responsibilities for both parties.
- To assess the financial viability of a contract milking or variable order sharemilker position.
- What can trip you up as a contract milker.
- How to assess different contract milking opportunities and make good decisions.
- To understand the value of independent advice when negotiating a contract and being self-employed.
- How to assess issues and risks and how to manage and mitigate them.
Course Details
Four in-person workshops held between milkings, or eight online workshops, in daytime or evening. Small class sizes with limited numbers.
Qualification: Earn the Preparing Dairy Farmers for Contract Milking Opportunities (15 NZQA Level 5 credits).
Course requirements
To be eligible for our courses, you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a NZ resident visa. You will be required to complete an assessment to demonstrate your learning. You must bring a laptop (ideally) or device to course days to access course materials, editable documents, and assessments.
